When you live in the Ozark Mountains you are never far from a vacation. Many tourists visiting Branson and the Table Rock Lake area fall in love and relocate or retire here. The hustle and bustle of the Branson tourist attractions and the relaxation of the lakes make for a great place to live, work, and play. Whether you are just starting out in life or ready to retire, there is a community or subdivision to fit your life style.
The area is commonly referred to as the Tri-Lakes area. Surprise, surprise, we have 3 lakes in the area. They are Table Rock Lake, Bull Shoals, and Lake Taneycomo. Each lake is different and has its own attributes that makes it appealing to different people and different lifestyles. One of the coolest things is they are so close to each other. You can cove-out and relax in the water, ski, tube, wakeboard, and fish for world record size bass on the Table Rock Lake side. Then a short drive away on the Taneycomo side you can kayak, trout fish, boat, and even shop the Branson Landing lakefront shopping community. Bull Shoals Lake is similar to Table Rock Lake, but a little father off the beaten path. Lake goers can enjoy boating, watersports, swimming, and fishing.
After living here on the lake for over 20 years I have heard countless stories and made new friends who vacationed here and then decided to call the Ozark Mountains home. It does not take long to see why the Table Rock Lake area has become so popular to live. Some folks visit and buy a condo so they can continue to visit the lakes area and Branson. Many visitors not ready to make the move to Branson will dip their toe in the water by purchasing condos and placing them in a managed nightly rental program, allowing the ability to make enough revenue to pay for their lake or golf front condo by renting it out when they cannot be here. Condo rental programs have become very popular and a great way to make your first step to owning a lake property before moving here permanently. Over the years, I have seen people come on vacation and never go back, much like the early settlers who came to see what the famous author Harold Bell Wright was talking about in his book, The Shepherd of the Hills. Wright talked about the beautiful area and the hill people.
Many locals moved here because they were attracted to the Ozarks Mountains, Branson and the lakes, but in the last 10 years Branson has become a world class golf destination too. Our 9 hole course, Top of the Rock, has become home to the PGA Legends Of Golf Tour. Our 18 hole Branson Hills golf course is 18 holes showing off the beauty of the Ozarks while paying tribute to legendary Missouri golfers like Payne Stewart. I have more than once ran into Branson entertainers and country music legends on the golf courses of Branson. Thousand Hills is a favorite of many Branson Entertainers. I have seen Mickey Gilley and Shoji Tabuchi more than once. It is rumored that you might even bump into golf legends like Lee Trevino and John Daley enjoying the links of Branson!
I think one of the coolest things about Branson is you can run into celebrities on the streets of Branson and they are acting just like any other tourist. People don’t expect to see David Allen Coe on a park bench or Johnny Lee in the local grocery store. Many stars have lake homes in the area. If you’re lucky you just might see country star Lee Brice or actor Brad Pitt at the marina fueling up their boat. If you get off the beaten path over in the Stone County area you just might find yourself in the diner with Don Johnson. The Branson Tri-Lakes area is a melting pot for lake lovers, celebrities, and music fans.
If you are ready to find your slice of paradise on the links, or a lake home to enjoy give me a call and I can show you the perfect home or condo, where you can live, work, and play. Gordon Weathers, your Tri-Lakes Realtor 417-676-0439!
